THE ACADEMY OF FASHION PRESENTS THE FACES OF ELEGANCE

Who are the true faces of elegance? The answer was sought in the first 2024 Evening of Style – part of the socio-cultural project of the Academy of Fashion. In the capital's Millennium Gallery, guests enjoyed the designers' proposals dedicated to the leading theme. The official guest was H.E. Giuseppina Dzara - ambassador of the Republic of Italy in our country. In her speech, she highlighted the importance of events such as the Academy of Fashion's Style Night. She emphasized: "I am very happy to be here again. I congratulate the Academy of Fashion and Elena Cristiano. She is a very good friend of mine and a great professional in the field of beauty." Ambassador Giuseppina Dzara went on to say: “Working for elegance and beauty is very important to me. This is also of great importance to women. I think beauty and elegance contribute to women being great professionals. You help them a lot and live better. Thank you very much!". We recall that Ms. Dzara attended and opened the first of a series of evenings in 2022 - part of the socio-cultural project of the Academy of Fashion, dedicated to the work and anniversary of the great Italian designer Valentino.
Exclusive participation was taken by Elena Christiano - winner of the "Golden Needle 2023" for overall contribution and owner of Christian of Roma. She noted Ms. Dzara's iconic style and shared her take on elegance. The chairman of the Academy of Fashion, Prof. Lubomir Stoykov, an esthete and culturologist, emphasized: "We cannot and should not absolutize only one of the many faces of elegance. Everyone has the right to claim that their style is authoritative, but it is the media, critics, designers, influencers and fashion innovators who make the "verdict" of what is elegant and what is not. I agree with the principle that elegance is a state of mind, but I would add that it is also a function of beauty and comfort, sophistication and personal charisma! I share Giorgio Armani's maxim about elegance, according to which it is not so important to be noticed, it is more important to be remembered!”.
In the evening entitled "The Faces of Elegance", thematic works of the winners of the "Golden Needle" - Radostina Dolapchieva and Alegra, as well as the team of Elena Christiano - owner of Christiano of Roma - were shown. Prosperous designers Albena Ivanova-Deyanova, with her brand Benmodel, and Sonya Karpov and her fashion house Karpov.
Elena Christiano's team kicked off the fashion show by presenting two looks dedicated to the leading theme. They are inspired by eternity in elegance. The hairstyles were created by the impressive hairdressers Borislav Sapundjiev and Mr. Kolev. The first look is a combination of African braids, baroque, ribbons and an elegant bun, which proves that well-chosen elements are an indicator of elegance. The second hairstyle is a masculine look with masculinist features, presented in a very subtle and compact way. Benmodel with designer
Albena Ivanova-Deyanova presented the "Contrasts" set, which is part of the upcoming spring collection. It consists of two parts, and the highlight of the outfit, apart from the many external seams, is the white leather collar and the large contrasting buttons.
The fashion brand Karpov with designer Sonya Karpov, awarded with a diploma by the Academy of Fashion for "Prosperous Fashion Brand of the Year", also stood out in the presentations. Both outfits are from the Euphoria 2024 collection.
The sophisticated fashion show ended with a collection by the Alegra fashion house with designer Radostina Dolapchieva, who is a three-time winner of the "Golden Needle", including and designer of 2023. She presented a model "Sarah" from the Divine 2024 collection, which is made of fine Italian tulle with glittering parts. The corset is decorated with handmade leaves studded with numerous crystals.
A special display in the gallery also featured several outfits created by artificial intelligence. They largely betray the standard robots' idea of elegant fashion - cleanliness, refinement, restraint, simplicity and quality of materials.
The host of the event was Ekaterina Svecheva - face of "Golden Needle 2022", influencer and top model. Present were also H.E. Giusepina Dzara, Ani Vladimirova, Rumyana Marinova, Prof. Chavdar Popov, Kristina Dimitrova, Veronika Stefanova, Irina Vladi, Dr. Irina Garkova, Anna and Vasil Banovi, Plamen Dzhurov, Ivo Krastev, Gabriela Karchina, Vili Nikolov, Alexandra Krasteva, Kristina Nestorova and others.
