An exclusive catwalk show in aid of the survivors of the Haitian earthquake will take place as part of London Fashion Week. Supermodel Naomi Campbell joined First Lady Sarah Brown’ efforts to organize the event. The show will take place on February 18 and Vivienne Westwood, Alexander McQueen and Dolce & Gabbana - among others will show their designs to help the cause.

jagger’s new generation for versace
Georgia May Jagger is the new face of Versace’s spring-summer 2010 advertising campaign. The daughter of Mick Jagger and Jerry Hall recreates the image of contemporary Bridget Bardot in front of the camera of Mario Testino. The 17-year-old Georgia has received Model of the Year at 2009’s British Fashion Awards. She was noticed by Donatella Versace, who admits: “She is smart, she has a strong personality, she is beautiful and full of energy”.

anna wintour’s lessons

Anna Wintour encouraged French officials to follow in the footsteps of their US and British colleagues and to offer more support to young designers. The editor-in-chief of the American edition of Vogue attended a meeting with French government officials where she asserted that the country doesn't do enough to support its fashion sector. French industry minister Christian Estrosi said: “She's right. Everyone knows the role Anna plays in making New York a great fashion capital. My objective was to benefit from her experience”. Estrosi revealed that the country is already taking steps to protect the industry, which employs 125,000 people.

Julia Roberts – deal for millions

Julia Roberts is the new face of Lancome, the online edition of British Vogue reports. The pretty woman will be a global ambassador of the brand and for that role she will receive over $20 million. The first ad she features in, shot by Mario Testino, is for a Lancôme’s mascara and will be broadcast around Europe in March.

Prince Charles has expressed his support to a fashion eco-cause, defending wool, vogue.co.uk reports. He will call on buying more wool clothes, reminding and education people about the advantages of this material. The goal is to prevent a new breed of wool-free sheep that is being bred because the cost of sheering sheep has become more expensive than the wool itself.

marc jacobs was knighted

Marc Jacobs – the chief designer of Louis Vuitton - has been awarded with the title Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters, myfashionlife.com announced. French equivalent of knighthood, which the American designer has received for his services to the fashion industry.
Nathalie Rykiel, daughter of Sonia Rykiel and creative director of the Sonia Rykiel fashion house, was also honoured by the French government for her services to fashion.
