Karolina Kurkova – the Slavic formula of success

Karolina Kurkova is a super model, mostly famous with the fact that she is among the angels of „Victoria’s Secret”.

She was born at 28th February 1984 in the Czech town Decin. Still young Kurkova gets into the famous people, because her father Josef Kurka is among the stars in the basketball. As a child Karolina seems too tall and big for her age. Her relationship with the fashion starts from the moment, when her friend sends her photos in agency for models in Prague.

The engagements of Kurkova at the fashion stage starts immediately. The ambition of the young model sends her in Milan, where she strives to accumulate more professional experience and contacts in the fashion circles. The beginning of her starry career starts with the concluding of an agreement with the famous designer Miucha Prada.

In 1999 still 15-years-old, Kurkova meets with some editors of the American edition of magazine „Vogue”, who are very impressed and don’t stay indifferent to the Czech model.

Kurkova starts to work hardly in the fashion circle, but her popularity obtains world dimension in 2001, when she appears at the cover of the February issue of „Vogue”.

Karolina Kurkova is one of the youngest models that had photographed for the cover of the fashion magazine. Her appearance is her strongest stimulus to the starry future.

In November 2001 Kurkova was invited to become part of the show of „Victoria’s Secret”. The beauty doesn’t stay unnoticed also by „Yves Saint Laurent”, with which later she concludes an agreement. The photos of Karolina Kurkova for the advertisings of „Tommy” and „Valentino” make her popularity bigger.

In 2002 the Czech beauty wins the title “Model of the year” at the VH1/Vogue Fashion Awards.

Her agreements with designers as Oscar de la Renta and Balenciaga, as her appearances at the covers of more than 60 of the most luxurious fashion and lifestyle magazines, arrange Kurkova among the most expensively paid models at the planet.
