Zorka Purvanova” The New Almanac of Bulgarian Fashion
put a right, more categorical accent on the
qualitative realization of the young designers”
* On December 19, 2007 in “Boyana” Residence will be hold the charitable premiere of the “Almanac of Bulgarian Fashion 2008” under the respect patronage of the First Lady
Galina Kondova
On the eve of Christmas- on December 19, 2007- will be holding the charitable premiere of “Almanac of Bulgarian Fashion 2008” under the respect patronage of the first lady Mrs. Zorka Parvanova. Author and compiler of the Almanac is professor Lubomir Stoykov, chairman of the Academy for Fashion. The event will be hold at “House 2” of Residence of “Boyana” and like an annual tradition it is going to be with a charitable character. The first three almanacs will be sold out at a preliminary auction with bidding - officially numerated and signed by the author copies of the book. In the night of the premiere the new Almanac will also be sold in aid of charity. All the gathered means( also as a tradition) will be given to the children in a nonequivalent social position from Children Home “St. Ivan Rilski”, whose godfather and long- year donator is the author of the “Almanac of Bulgarian Fashion”; the money will also be used for helping the university education in Bulgaria.
In her introduction for the “Almanac of Bulgarian Fashion 2008” Mrs. Zorka Parvanova wrote: “Prof. Lubomir Stoykov and his team tried with “Almanac of Bulgarian Fashion 2008” to find and popularize the achievements of thousands and hundred thousands specialists and performers, who are working in the field of clothes and fabrics, cosmetics and perfumery, the goods for home and generally- for our lifestyle. I am convinced that we must encourage the efforts of the creators of the almanac to support and stimulate the appearances of the new generation designers- students or just graduated people from academies, colleges and schools for fashion and fashion design here and abroad. Very hopeful is the fact that more and more talented and young stylists, who had learned the craft at prestigious schools and colleges in London, Paris, Milan, Vienna, New York and so on, are coming back in Bulgarian and work for our country. Even in the age of globalization, we don’t have to underestimate the stock and the origin of the talent, which are also a source of auspicious identity and justifiable national self- confidence. In this meaning, the new almanac rightly puts even more categorical accent on the qualitative realization of the young designers. Along with that the higher criteria for quality and elegance are obvious, which is logically because we have already been full member of the European Union for an year.”

In the night of December 19, at House 2 of Residence of “Boyana” will be hold a beautiful show-review in which popular fashion houses will take part with their newest collections- the famous fashion house “My lady” and “Pronovias”, winners of “Golden Needle” of Academy for Fashion Maria Nedkova and fashion house “Miro”, the Bulgarian optical brand- glasses “Kwiat”, the world famous brand” Triumph”, fashion duo “Bipone”, group of students of fashion design from the National Academy of Art and- for close down of the night- the famous Bulgarian designer Alya Milusheva- “Astella Atelier”. It is curious to be noticed that the entiteled by many people as “The Bulgarian Coco Chanel”- Maria Nedkova is inspired of the colors and magnificence of the popular drink “Bombay Sapphire”. Anchor man of the night will be the charming Desi Banova from Nova TV. The staging and the choreography are made by Amalia Tincheva, 24 of the most beautiful Bulgarian models, some of whome are title- holders of “Miss Bulgaria”, will take part in the show. Oficial photographer of the charitable premier is the famous master of photo-objective Bojidar Markov.

The native Bulgarian glasses “Kwiat” are developing its idea for design as they gather the impressions of the progress in the field of optics, for evolution of the design, for the progress of the international trade in this branch and as they set theirs clock with the world fashion giants in the field.

Photo: Archive “Kwiat”According to the owner of “Kwiat” Pavel Tcvetkov the last word in fashion for glasses is not unknown for the native brand. Even it turns out that the newest models of “Kwiat” for the next 2008 year are like the hit trends of the specialized optical exhibition “Silmo” in Paris.
“The other exclusive news of the world of optics is the extremely strong and really for long presence of stones, crystal or ornaments on the frames and the gradating semi- transparent (mirror) glasses. The metal frames are mat, predominating is the golden color in all its shades. One more year the volumetric forms will be dominating. Very popular are the practical varieties of the kidney and the mask. The uncomfortable big sizes of the frames for the sun glasses are gradually getting smaller and are much more moderate. Contrary to this trend the forms and seizes of the optic frames are gradually getting bigger. Our team had a chance to see all this on real on the exhibition “Silmo” in Paris and we were very pleased because our newest collection stakes exactly on this trends. Of course, we also learned a lot of new things - mainly in the technical and production sphere of the glasses. We are working with the lightest and most qualitative material in the world for production of frames - the Italian Macukele”. Unfortunately, just few of the world brands stake on such a good quality” said as a conclusion Mr. Tcvetkov.

“Lavazza” collection with designer Virginia Zdravkova -
the most majestic fashion experience
For tenth consecutive year “Sofstok”- representative of “Lavazza” coffee in Bulgaria gave the chance to one of our designers to create a collection, inspired by the new vision of the calendar of the Italian aromatic drink. The main slogan of the next season publication is “The most majestic espresso experience.”

Virginia Zdravkova - double winner of the award “Golden Needle” of the Academy for Fashion - created for second time the “coffee” collection. With the splendid dresses she reproduced the atmosphere of the majestic royal yards from the past ages.

Virginia Zdravkova: “When I saw the newest calendar of “Lavazza” I was extremely impressed by the perfectionism of the photographer Finley Mackey. He is able to situate the details in the whole composition whit precise exactness. I felt the dynamic, the elegance, the positive energy, the magnificence and luxury. All that reminded me that this young creator has a delicate sense of aesthetic. It was obvious that he had worked with huge enthusiasm and passion. This is absolutely true for me as well like a designer - it is like there is some power, which makes me to create every time unforgettable feeling for me and also for the audience.”

The “Lavazza” collection this year is entirely subordinated to Virginia Zdravkova`s philosophy to create clothes for beautiful women, who want to look elegant but also irresistible feminine, attractive and sexy. In this way the designer interpreted the main idea of the “Lavazza” calendar - the strong women are dominating in the photos- queens who persuade the idea of fine aristocracy and pride.
The collection includes 33 models. The silhouette of the clothes follows the body line and the volume is achieved by special busk constructions. In unison with the creative idea of the calendar, Virginia Zdravkova is using fabrics like silk taffeta, taffeta with metal threads, lace, silk chiffon, chiffon with lame threads.

The splendor of the royal yard was expressed by the special set - scenes and the effects, the hairstyles and the make-up. The details are wide and narrower belts, tassels, drapes, beads, ribbons, “Swarovski” crystals, applications and jewelry- heavy, covered with small and big “Swarovski” crystals, necklaces of pearls, earrings and tassels.

Special guest of the night was Alessandro Sforza - regional director ”Business development” for Central and East Europe, Middle East and South Africa, who personally greeted the audience. Some of the other guests were His Excellency Giovanni Battista Campagnola - ambassador of Italy in Bulgaria and his wife Zohara Campagnola, His Excellency Drazen Vukov-Colic - ambassador of Republic of Croatia for Bulgaria, Miroslav Pechev - owner of “Sofstok”, official representative of “Lavazza” in Bulgaria, Liliana Lazarova - CEO of “Sofstok”, Kalin Tochev - manager “Business development” for the Balkan Peninsula, Russia and CIS, prof. Beauty center “Airini” opened doors
Rodopic massage with warm tiles and herbal oils, Kleopatra`s bath and B.D.R. system are some of the hit procedures
The newest cosmetic center “Airini” officially opened doors with a cocktail party, review of the designer Petia Dimitrova and “AIMS-G celebrity boutique”, and remarkable demonstrations of cosmetic procedures. Special guest of the event was professor Lubomir Stoykov, who introduced the hostess Irena Petrova - owner of the center. In her appeal to the guests she claimed: “I am sure that beauty appears only to places which are beautiful. That is why when I go to some beauty studio, except the estimation which I make for the stylists, I pay a lot of attention to the details. I notice the design, whether the salon is practically organized. That is the main reason why I decided to make my own cosmetic center, where I can express my own conception of beauty”

At the invitation of Irena Petrova the designer Petia Dimitrova showed some models of her newest collection, named “Provocation”. With the clothes were also shown accessories of “AIMS-G celebrity boutique” - the volumetric designer bags of Florian Deniscourt and glasses of Lara Bohinc.
In a combination of the unique interior design, among the guest were fluttering exotic butterflies from the only one Bulgarian farm for breeding this beautiful creatures, whose owner is Olga Uskova.

Beauty center “Airini” is situated to a ground of 250 sq. m. The name is coming from the English word “air” and is connected with the philosophy of fun-shui.
Beauty center “Airini” offers hairdressing, cosmetics, manicure, pedicure, nail-plastic, massage, anti-cellulite, relaxing and modulating therapies.

The spa-therapies are extremely current. The so-called “Kleopatra`s bath” is appropriate for nourishing the skin, which is achieved by use of goat milk, jojoba oil, calendula and aloe vera. The wine-therapy balances the PH level and activates the regeneration of the cells. The procedure with warm eco honey absorbs the needless tocsins and stimulates the natural ability of the organism to clean itself.

The collection of the young designer Petia Dimitrova impressed with brave and free vision of the modern city girl, without taking away her feminine expression and fine elegance. The designer relays on the game of the materials. The models are made mostly of knitted fabrics and knitted nets of textiles. Petia Dimitrova looks for unusual forms and cuts. The silhouette is volumetric and the feminine expression is achieved by the details - “boat” type neckline, which stress the shoulders, “glove” type sleeves or closely tightened to the arm.
The designer transformed the skirt and made it semi-trousers (with one or two legs). The length of the dresses is to the ankle and they are decorated with flounces. The clothes are colorful and are in absolute unison with the style “grai”, with which Petia Dimitrova described her models. The name is imagined by herself and actually is the word “igra( game)” but with changed letters.
Among the guests were the national representative Vessela Draganova, baroness Mariana Gendovic, Olga Uskova - chairman of Russian business club, Dessi Banova, Mariana Marinova - host of the broadcast “Chocolate” from “7 Dni” TV and winner of “Mrs. Bulgaria 2007 - Globe”, Ekaterina Duneva - “Mrs. Bulgaria 2007- World”, Juli Angelova - winner of the award “Golden Needle” for the best maker-up. Some of the models who presented the collection were Evelina Kikerezova from broadcast “Golden powder” from BBT and Petya Velkova from the broadcast “Jultini” from “Channel 3”.
