In the wonderful gardens of the famous castle „St. Angelo” in Rome took place fashion show spectacle, for which people will talk for a long time. In the presence of a huge Italian audience Bulgarian fashion creators and houses showed their newest works of art. Among the honored with this real high award were Milka Alexandrova – Buchi, „Miró” and „Irida”. They showed the best from them selves to give joy to the connoisseurs of the original design not wherever it is, but in one of the capitals of the world fashion – in the Eternal City. The unique complement of the genres jewels, everyday chic and evening art fashion contributed to the effect of compactness, conceptuality and „aesthetical pluralism”. What did the hundreds of spectators see – sitting and standing in the hot evening of August in the gardens of the Rome castle „St. Angelo”?

The evening of the Bulgarian fashion in Rome was opened with a short speech of Prof. Dr. Lubomir Stoykov, chairman of the Academy for fashion. He introduced to the Italian audience the ideas of our participants and underlined how important is the circumstance that namely in the Eternal City – Rome, close to the secret place – the castle „St. Angelo”, the Bulgarian designers will have the possibility to show their newest works of art. As a mark of gratitude for the Italian hospitality and management Prof. Stoykov gave away the bilingual edition of „Almanac of Bulgarian fashion 2008” to Dr. Vanno, president of Foundation „Invitation to culture”. Milka Alexandrova - Buchi opened the evening with her new collection jewels, named “With color of magnolia”. The good idea was seen in the wonderful presentation of the collection jewels and clothes, a result of the special choreography and scenography, topically related with the symbolism of the emblematic flower. Milka Alexandrova - Buchi presented 30 jewels in white, made of natural pearls, mountain crystals, mother-of-pearls and silver antique coins. The beautiful accessories were demonstrated as an attractive addition to six identical clothes, also made by Buchi.

Fashion house “Miró” arrived in Rome with its first-run collection spring-summer 2009. As we know this fashion head office is a bearer of the two most prestigious awards for fashion design and entrepreneurship in Bulgaria – „Golden pin” and „Fashion Mercury” of the Academy of fashion. Its works of art, showed in the gardens of „St. Angelo” were decided in the spirit of the no conventional elegance. The trousers are looser to a great extent in the under part, with high waist. The dresses and the skirts keep their classic length; there are characteristic the underlining sex-appeal and sticking to the body forms. The shirts are strongly taken in at the waist. To them volumes give the sleeves and the collars. The dresses of the type “party” are short and eclectically combine a décolleté of the type “turtleneck” with naked backs. The palette of colors varies from classic back and white to the muted tones of beige, brown and grey. Raves are the nuances of green and coralline to the playful red.

The evening of the Bulgarian fashion in Rome finished stylishly, artistically and effectively, thanks to the original whims of fashion house „Irida” – a bearer of „Golden pin” just in the part for original spectacle. The value music – a mixture of folk and fashion plays, the special prepared recitative at Italian language, as the works of art, combining in convincing way the classic and the fashion provoked spontaneous ovations among the connoisseurs. The manager of the designer team of „Irida” Boriana Grigorova and the young designer Natalia Jivkova presented official clothes from the last collection of fashion house “CATS – Paws and Claws”. The toilets from the line “The triumph of the cats” are with clear line, and the classic silhouette is the unifying message. The symbolic of the cat is used as a synonym of the extreme femininity, sensuality and the eternal impulse for flirtation. All the toilets are with length to the ankle and they fold tenderly and sensually the woman’s body. To every one of them are made complementary elements in different shapes – sharp claws, convolute tails and tender paws. The used textile – natural silk, silk chiffon and satin – is subordinate to the whole concept of the collection. The patterns are stylish floral and geometric shapes, as animalistic elements.

All the works of art of our designers and fashion head offices were demonstrated with grace and refinement from the ballet-dancers of dance group „Ariadna” with chief choreographer the Bulgarian master of the ballet art Ralica Kavaldjieva. A presenter was Lara Bereanu from BNT, and with the translation at Italian language successfully helped her Alek. With the bright fashion show spectacle of Bulgarian designers and fashion houses finished the cultural holydays „Sofia says hello to Rome” in the garden of the cult castle „St. Angelo” in the Italian capital. Among the presents of the event special guests were Marco Di Stefano, vice-regional manager of region Lazio, Silvio Di Francia, famous Italian journalist and ex-vice-mayor to the culture of municipality of Rome, Antonella Di Justy, mayor of the historical part of Rome, journalists from many Italian media, including from „RAI Uno”, as also Mariana Bojadjieva, consul of Bulgaria in Italy, Ivo Ionkov, director of the Bulgarian cultural institute in Rome and many others.

With success culminated the consecutive project of the Bulgarian-Italian cultural association „Phoenix” with a president Jana Yakovleva and foundation „Generous heart”, represented by Rosemary De Meo. The project itself is under the patronage of municipality of Sofia and region of Lazio. A huge merit for its realization has Dr. Vanno who is a president of foundation „Invitation for culture”. She with justifiable pathos and much emotion opened every one of the three evenings and introduced the visiting performers. Closing the evening of the Bulgarian design in Rome, she said that she is delighted by the seen from her and according to her in Milan can only envy to the Bulgarian fashion. The charity aim of the organizers is to realize a cultural exchange between two European capitals, creating a tradition every year Sofia to present in quality way at the summer stage in Rome. The present project is realized with the valuable help of “Bulgaria Air”, “Montecchi Group”, “Elisir Gambrinus”.

HOT NEWS FROM MISS SIREN – DINEVI RESORT

There are already 59 participants, registered for the contest Miss sIren – Dinevi Resort. The registration continues to 10th of August. Twenty six girls will participate in the final spectacle at 29th of August in St. Vlas in the new amphitheatre that is situated in the exclusive Dinevi Resort.

The chosen girls will rehearse three days in the resort St. Vlas, Dinevi Resort. In their free time they will relax at the luxurious yachts BAIA.

“TRIUMPH” TRANSFORMED BEIJING IN FASHION CAPITAL

* Counted daysbefore the startof the Olympics, the world concernbestowed an awardof 15 000 €at the winner in the competition “Triumph Inspiration Award ‘08”

Midori Matsuo (20) from Japan won 15 000 € in the competition “Triumph Inspiration Award ‘08”. She succeeded to impress the exacting jury with special model underwear called “Under the skin”. As an addition to the award, the winning model to be adapted from the designer of “Triumph” and it will be sold in selected boutiques of the brand in all over the world.

“Triumph Inspiration Award ‘08” is a challenge that the German concern and leader in the production of underwear “Triumph” addresses toward students from prestigious schools at fashion and design in all over the world. They had to create a model that is composed of bra with whalebone and under part conceptually related with the motto “Woman charm”. Boys and girls from 31 countries showed talent and inspiration and demonstrated their design proposals during an unbelievable show, organized in the Olympic capital Beijing. The expert jury that evaluated the merits of the models, participating in the competition, included a Holland designer duo Victor and Rolf, the Danish super model Helena Christensen, the German top photographer Ellen von Unwert, the Chinese top model and actress Lu Yan and Ian Rosenberg from “Triumph”. The leading criteria that the young designers had to observe were innovation and creativity in the interpreting of the designer topic, individuality and uniqueness, conceptuality, aesthetic, quality of the design and of the execution, as also an original presentation. “Mostly liked us the fact that the students were asked to avoid the commercial side of the things. Like this nothing restricted them”, announced Victor and Rolf.

Besides Midori Matsuo, still two excellent came up at the honored step of “Triumph”. Teresa Bakler (21) from Germany won 10 000 €. She was classed at second place with her model, bringing the name “Once upon a time”. Stine Fagervik-Rosen (28) from Norway took the third place and received a prize of 5 000 €. His model brought the strange name “Wish for a beautiful tastelessness”. The excellent in the competition received their awards personally from the Olympic champion Linford Kristi and the actress Michele Lee. The Bulgarian representatives from “Triumph International” (Sofia) promised that in the next edition of the competition will participate our country.

BULGARIAN FASHION IN ROME

Not anywhere but in Roma – the eternal city, at 10th of August 2008 will be showed a Bulgarian fashion in the frames of the Bulgarian cultural manifestations. Their newest collections especially for the chosen Italian connoisseurs of the beauty will show the fashion houses “Irida” and “Miro” – bearers of the award “Golden pin” of the Academy of fashion. For a second year in succession Milka Alexandrova – Buchi will present her author’s collection of jewels. The models will be showed by Italian ballet-dancers.

The days of the Bulgarian culture will continue from 8th to 10th of August. In the artistic program, besides a fashion defile, are included also a ballet staging and a folklore concert. The days will be organized in the garden of the famous castle “Saint Angelo” under the motto “Sofia says hello to Rome”. The chief organizer of the event is Jana Jakovleva, president of the Italian-Bulgarian association of culture „Phoenix”. The event is a result of the agreement for collaboration between the Italian region Lazio and the municipality of Sofia.

TOP DESIGNERS MAKE RUBY SLIPPERS

Christian Louboutin, Manolo Blahnik, Diane von Furstenberg and Betsey Johnson are only part of the designers that will make their own model ruby slippers in connection of the celebration of the 70th anniversary of “The wizard of Ozz”.

19 designers will take participation in the original project. They will use crystals “Swarovski” for the making of their models. The unique works will be showed in September at 5th Avenue in New York.

The exhibition is made with charity objective, as the gathered means from the tour of the exhibition, will be given to the pediatric foundation for AIDS of Elizabeth Glaser.

For the first time a Bulgarian man is in Top 3 of the temporary chart in the competition “Show me your sloggi 2008”. The 19-year-old Martin from Varna already some days in succession takes the second man’s place, as only hundredths separates him from the leader’s position. In the information about himself the charming favorite of the “sloggi” community indicates that he is tall 182 cm and his zodiacal sign is Leo.

It seems like in the second edition of the competition “Show me your sloggi 2008” the Bulgarians again will set up records. Three weeks in succession our girl leaded the temporary chart in the world competition “Show me your sloggi 2008” that the leader in the production of youth underwear “sloggi” organizes for second year. This was the 23-year-old Biliana from Sofia. The Bulgarian girl for now holds the record for a photo that has stayed for the longest period at first position in this year’s edition of the competition. The Bulgarian beauties continue to present permanently in Top 10 of the chart.

John Galliano will present at the public in October his first fragrance that will bring his name “Galliano”. For the moment the perfume can be bought only in the general store “Harrods” in London.

The fragrance is sweet, fresh and with floral accents. The perfume will be offered in a charming bottle that is with personal design of John Galliano and resembles to his fashion work. The fragrance is a combination of a rose, lavender and an essence from a bark of bergamot, violets and leaves of amber. To the perfume will be proposed in three different dimensions body lotion, shower gel and scrap for body.

KATIA DUNEVA – THIRD AT A WORLD BEAUTY CONTEST

The Bulgarian beauty Ekaterina Duneva – a wife of the sixhold rally champion Rumen Dunev, conquered the big concurrence and won the third place at the world beauty contest “Mrs. World 2008”. The first place was adjudged to the American woman Angelic Hartville and second became Alet Venter – South Africa.

The strong wish for victory, the extremely preparation and self-discipline of Katia Duneva, bring her to the successful final of the prestigious competition. „I feel very happy. Although, that they tolerated the American woman during the whole time, I am proud that I won the third place and that I presented with dignity Bulgaria to the world! I thank to all the people that supported me during the whole time!” – shared Katia after the competition.

The toilet with which Ekaterina Duneva marched by in the starry evening is a work of the exclusive Israel brand – “My Lady Haute Couture”, covered with 5 500 crystals and pearls Swarovski. An official representative of the brand for Bulgaria is boutique “Bridal Fashion”.
