Prada Up

Prada UpItalian fashion house Prada has reported a 26 per cent profit increase in the first quarter of 2010. Revenues of the family-owned business rose above expectations to €366 million, with a marked rise in sales in the Far East. Sales were up 62 per cent in Asia where Prada has focused on opening new stores - and also rose 33 per cent in the United States and 18 per cent across Europe.

Gaultier Exits Hermes

 

aultier Exits HermesJaen Paul Gaultier has announced that he is leaving luxury French fashion label Hermès. The house has named Christopher Lemaire - currently creative director of Lacoste - as his successor.

"Hermès is deeply grateful to Jean Paul Gaultier for his outstanding creative contribution during these seven years," the company told.


Gaultier will leave after the label's spring/summer 2011 collection is showcased in October and Lemaire will take the helm at women's ready-to-wear at the start of the autumn/winter 2011 collection.
