ADAMAYCastilla y León Fashion Week (Semana de la Moda de Castilla y León) will gather Spanish and International agents, importers, wholesalers and journalists from the fashion industry on 7th-9th October 2008 in Burgos, Spain. The most innovative designers, together with experienced fashion firms, will take part in both the Fashion Catwalk and the Show Room, where you can test the quality and design of these companies. This is the third major fashion event taking place in Spain twice a year.

The range of designs that the event will cover includes Womenswear, Lingerie & Swimwear, Childrens clothing, Bridalwear, Cocktail and Evening Wear, Accessories, Leather Clothing, Men’s Wear.

Among the participating companies and designers are TELENO, TATE, ANA LOCKING, ADAMAY, RIVERSIDE, ZAUST, AMARRAS, ANTIMODA, DOWN TOWN.

The Balkan exhibition for clothing and textile BGate – style and quality in the textile industry

In the days from 25th to 27th of September 2008 in Inter Expo and Congress Center – Sofia is conducted the 6th edition of the Balkan exhibition for clothing and textile BGate. The organizers of the exhibition – Agency BulgarReklama and the Bulgarian Association of the producers and exporters of clothing and textile are convinced that this year BGatewill help to the numerous business participants and visitors to strengthen their positions in the production, distribution or the commercial offering of quality and competitive clothes, textile and fashion accessories at the Bulgarian market and abroad.

BGate unifies the style and the quality in the textile industry and attracts the interest of the professionals in the branch.

At surfaceat about 5000 square metersare presentedalmost 110 direct exhibitors who show the last tendencies in the branch – from the ready product to all the necessary materials and fashion accessories at the production of clothing, textile and tailoring articles, machines and equipment. Except the companies that support strong interest to BGate during all these years, stands have also 20 new companies, and with collective participation present them selves 10 Turkish and 6 Italian companies. Among the participants there are companies from Germany, Greece, Austria, Turkey, Italy, Portugal etc.

The strengthening foreign interest is due to the growing popularity of the exhibition, as to the fact that some of the Bulgarian exhibitors by tradition invite their foreign partners. In the frames of the international specialized exhibition are provided visitations of business delegations from Canada, Austria, Switzerland, Ukraine, Belgium, France, Albania, Macedonia and Germany.

Four are the topical groupsthat formthis year’s exhibition:

  1. BGate Style– producers of textile and clothing with proper brand from Bulgaria and the Balkan countries;
  2. BGate Partners– producers of textile and clothing, working to order;
  3. BGate Equipment and services– producers and importers of equipment and accessories for industry, companies, offering services to the sector;
  4. BGate Accessories– producers and importers of leather articles, shoes and haberdashery.

For the first time in the halls of BGate are demonstrated collections of shoes and accessories, that complement the fashion palette.

The business program of the exhibition includes the organization of First international forum for woman’s entrepreneurship and international conference with topic”Textile and clothing”. Lecturers from the country and from abroad will discuss the novelties in the branch – protection of the trade mark, contemporary decisions for the personnel, optimization of the production and management of the finances. It is provided labor exchange.
In the days of the exhibition approved fashion houses will transform the exhibition halls in attractive stage for their newest collections.

„BURBERRY” CONQUERES AMERICA

Children’s model of „Burberry” from the collection autumn-winter 2008-09

To expand its American market, in November „Burberry” opens its newest boutique for children’s clothing in New York. The store will be extended at a surface of 2 656 square feet and it will be the first from the chain children’s stores of the brand in America. After the registration of 25 percentage growth in the annual earnings in May 2008, the financial manager of „Burberry” Stacey Cartwright affirmed that the children’s articles will be favorable to more and more successes and to bigger earnings of the brand in America.

„CELINE” CHOSE ITS NEW CREATIVE DIRECTOR

After two-year old pause, the ex-creative director of the brand „Chloé” – Phoebe Philo will be appointed for creative director of the luxurious brand „Céline”.

The new collection of Phoebe Philo for „Céline” will be presented in March 2009 and it will include clothes, shoes, bags and accessories that characterize the fashion and extravagant woman of 2009.

Economic downturn of “Philips-Van Huizen”

Model of “Timberland”The company giant “Philips-Van Huizenregisters 25 % of economic downturn for the second quarter of 2008. The record high prices of part of its articles with the brand “Jeffrey Bean” leaded to the decrease of the selling. In the second quarter of 2008 the common incomes of the company tumbled to $ 29.2 millions in contrast to $ 39,1 millions during the first quarter of the year. The downturn of the common incomes is related to the unsuccessfully imposing of the men’s sportive articles with the brand “Timberland”, as with the appearance of more independent stores of “Calvin Klein”.

Nicole Miller entered in the stocking branch

Till the end of the year in the boutiques of Nicole Miller will be put on the market a limited number models of stockings. In the beginning of 2009 the whole collection will be found in all of the boutiques of the brand, as the price of pair stockings will vary from $8 to $40.This is the expected result of the contract that the famous American designer signed with “Leg Resource Inc” for the production and for the distribution of stockings and tights under the brands “Nicole Miller Collection” and “Nicole Miller New York”.

Frequent changes in “Hugo Boss”

Model of „Hugo Boss” for season spring-summer 2009The management changes in “Hugo Boss” became more frequent. The chief executive director of the company for USA Tony Lucia recently left because of personal reasons. The ex-executive director of fashion house “Christian Dior” – Claus-Dietrich Lars changed the president of the board of the directors of long standing of “Hugo Boss” – Bruno Seltzer.

Possible reason: differences with the British investment fund “Permira”, controlling 80% of the company from the middle of 2007. Joakim Reinhard that until recently was chief financial director of “Hugo Boss”, also deserted his post. Today “Hugo Boss” is with net losses of 6.1 million EUR for the second quarter of 2008 at 9 % increase of the selling, reaching 321,1 million EUR.
